The Chery Automobile Co. is China’s tenth-largest automotive brand and the largest in all of Asia. Founded in 1997, Chery encompasses 4 brands of passenger cars, including Chery, Karry, Rely and Riich, selling over 500,000 total cars in 2012. A wide range offering SUVs and coupes tailored to all kinds of consumer needs in the city and rural areas. This has cemented Chery’s status as a premium and multi-national car manufacturer, becoming renowned for quality and consumer satisfaction.

Originally created as a government-owned enterprise in 1997, Chery soon distributed nearly 30,000 units of its launch car, the Fengyun, by 1999. Throughout the 2000s, Chery secured important global links with Chrysler, Fiat, Range Rover and Nissan distribution channels, allowing for international releases of Chery-owned models. Its most important international development, a $500 million construction facility in Turkey, was announced in 2009. Unfortunately however, no progress towards development has yet been made; the final plant will employ nearly 3,000 workers and boost production rates.

Chery is also a pioneer in the research of alternative fuels and the switch to electric cars. The company has recently introduced a hybrid range in the M1, and has devoted research and development costs to the production of all-electric automobiles.

Unfortunately, Chery has recently come under criticism from General Motors, who claimed that Chery’s design for the QQ model was a ‘copy’ of their Daewoo Matiz. This is the second instance of infringement made against Chery; Toyota also accused Chery for similarities with the Toyota RAV4. Both cases were resolved in court cases swiftly.

Chery’s new concept

This is chery’s new M14 concept model performance vehicle, with this car you can cruise in style, This car is for the driver that wants to have the power of a performance and luxury vehicle but still have that quality and performance at an affordable price.

 

As with the A3 series, the A3CC was also designed by the famed Pininfarina of Italy. The real reasoning for employing an established design company such as Pininfarina is that Chery plan on selling this car in the European and North American markets where the aesthetic design of a car is paramount. 

In 2009 Chery produced three groups of M14 test cars, each group was made up of 5 cars that were sent out to test a different series of roads. M14 was always a code name but during the testing phase Chery came up with the name ‘A3CC’. The A3CC was aiming for a mid-2010 launch, but due to the roof issue the launch has been delayed to the end of 2010, but with winter not being a great time to launch a soft top car its likely the A3CC will be delayed yet again until early 2011.

The A3CC is a front engine front wheel drive car, which makes up the basic elements of most fun little cars. The exterior of the A3CC is quite striking, and will no doubt be popular where ever it launches.

Chinese car maker Chery has launched its J3 small hatch in Australia, going on sale in all states except for Victoria, where the absence of electronic stability control has kept the J3 from sale. Priced at $14,990 drive-away, the J3 becomes Australia's most affordable small car - and it offers a comfort and convenience list that more than stacks up against its pricier rivals.

Features
Standard features for the J3 include leather seats all-round, climate control, and steering-mounted audio controls. There are also electric windows all-round, electric side mirrors, remote central locking, rain-sensing wipers and dusk-sensing headlights. Standard safety features include reversing sensors, six airbags (front, side and curtain), anti-lock braking and electronic brake force distribution. Crucially, the J3 is not equipped with electronic stability control, ruling the new hatch out for sale in Victoria. Similar laws go into effect across Australia from November, however models released before November can be sold without ESC until 2013.
